Artificial intelligence is believed to address the greatest societal challenges of ageing, environment, and transport. It is believed that the developments in AI shall contribute to the improvement in the quality of life at home as well as at work. Additionally, it is also expected to increase competitiveness across various industries. Since India has a very vibrant start-up landscape, it is expected that the effects of the growth and developments in AI shall be more prevalent herein.
AI ethics are such offshoots of the ethics of technology which are directly or indirectly related to the fundamental ethics of technology. Such ethics derive their roots from the basic moral behavior of humans as they design, manufacture, and implement Artificial intelligence in various spheres of technology concerned with the behavior of the agents of artificial moral behavior. Similar to human or animal rights, it is important that the machines equipped with artificial intelligence have their own rights including the rights to exist, serve humanity, and perform missions. Additionally, the right to expression and equality before the law may also be formulated for the purpose of protecting the artificial intelligence and the rights thereof.
The privacy policies of the organizations differ on the basis of the skeletal structure. Hence, it is important to formulate organization-specific data privacy policy including the terms and conditions for the storage and use of the user’s name, address, date of birth, marital status, contact information, etc. It is important to note that only little has been discussed on the education of AI in the developing world. In an attempt to bridge the gap, it is important to discuss such AI technologies that are implemented worldwide so that the learning outcomes may be improved to acceptable limits.
Science has come a long way, yet has a long way to go. We have many wonderful things at hand, however, not everything can be put to use right now. We need to prepare a lot of things to set the appropriate environment for technology to function. Letting out scientific innovations without background preparations and deliberations on long term consequences may have disastrous consequences.
